As a victim of sexual violence and neglect from my local police force, the opportunity to sit with professionals and the police force has been priceless to me. I’d encourage anybody who works in this sector to come along and hear first hand the impact of the service we’ve experienced. Our experiences will shock you, but from what I’ve learnt from others who have attended previously, you will leave with greater understanding of people in our position and a passion to be the change inside your force. please don’t pass up this opportunity!

Safeline’s Victims’ Voice Forum brings together survivors and professionals. Truth is spoken. What emerges is honesty, courage and a genuine shift in understanding.
On 9th November we are bringing together survivors and professionals once again to discuss experiences of the aftermath of sexual abuse, interactions with the police and the criminal justice system, and the changes needed to improve support and outcomes.
Survivor voices matter. Listening leads to learning. Change starts with a conversation.

I’ve had the privilege of sharing mine at 2 of their events up to now and I will continue to say yes to the next.
As a victim of sexual violence, its difficult to harness the courage to speak with the police about it; whether that’s down to fear or distrust. but this forum continues to change my perspective, and gives me the sense of being a part of real change.
