About the Training

When staff work closely with individuals who have experienced trauma, they may be indirectly impacted by the emotional weight of those experiences. This is known as vicarious trauma — and, if unrecognised, it can affect wellbeing, performance, and job satisfaction.

Safeline’s Recognising and Coping with Vicarious Trauma training helps teams understand, identify, and manage these effects. Facilitated by two highly experienced trauma-informed counsellors, this interactive session provides practical tools and reflective space to promote resilience and self-care in the workplace.

What You Will Learn

Understand what vicarious trauma is and how it can affect staff in helping roles.

Identify indicators of vicarious trauma in themselves and others.

Recognise and reflect on their own work/life balance.

Develop practical strategies to build and maintain emotional wellbeing.
