This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and caring team providing face to face counselling and therapy to children and young people experiencing the after effects of sexual abuse.
Successful candidate(s) will hold an appropriate counselling or arts therapy qualification and a minimum two years post qualification experience. In addition we welcome candidates with online/telephone counselling qualification and/or experience.
More About Us
You will provide professional face to face counselling in 12 week blocks and up to 24 weeks (and sometimes telephone and online counselling) to children and young people who have been affected by historic or recent sexual abuse, rape and sexual violence.
Work will be within office hours, is flexible and can be mutually agreed.
At counselling rooms in Nuneaton or Rugby by mutual agreement. Client appointments will be grouped together to avoid excess travel, for example you may work in Nuneaton or Rugby. Some telephone counselling may also be required.
You will have a caseload of between 5-10 sessions per week, subject to demand, up to 5 sessions per day.
A designated Counselling Assessment and Services Manager
£40 per attended client session, not attended session or late notice cancellation (up to 24 hours before the start of the session) for up to 2 sessions within a 12 session block. Travel expenses at 40p per mile. This post is on a self-employed basis.
Membership of BACP/BAAT/BADTH or equivalent and hold own professional indemnity insurance.
Art Therapists will also be HCPC registered.
An empathic, non-judgmental and compassionate person with a genuine desire to support and empower survivors of sexual abuse.
Maintain a pre-agreed caseload of contracted counselling clients providing short or long-term counselling tailored to the client’s needs.
Work collaboratively and with integrity and respect for clients and colleagues and maintain confidentiality.
Maintain case files on our CRM system in a timely, orderly manner. Complete counselling notes after every session.
Assess risk and need and strictly adhere to Safeguarding Adults at Risk and Child Protection protocols, referring to Safeline’s Designated Safeguarding Leads where risk identified.
Attend regular Line Management and Clinical Supervision, mandatory training and professional development events.
Complete any relevant available training around protocols and procedures such as security and health and safety and ensure Safeline’s policies and procedures are adhered to.
Ensure invoices are submitted to Safeline on a monthly basis within specified timelines
