In-person training
2 and a half hours including a Q&A and discussion
Up to 20 staff members
When staff work closely with individuals who have experienced trauma, they may be indirectly impacted by the emotional weight of those experiences. This is known as vicarious trauma — and, if unrecognised, it can affect wellbeing, performance, and job satisfaction.
Safeline’s Recognising and Coping with Vicarious Trauma training helps teams understand, identify, and manage these effects. Facilitated by two highly experienced trauma-informed counsellors, this interactive session provides practical tools and reflective space to promote resilience and self-care in the workplace.
This training is specially designed for professionals and volunteers who regularly support or work alongside people who have experienced traumatic events. Anyone in a role involving empathy, listening to difficult experiences, or exposure to others trauma will gain valuable insight from this training, including:
Counsellors, therapists, and advocates
Social workers and safeguarding professionals
Healthcare and education staff
Charity, outreach, and crisis support teams
The session is suitable for both frontline and management staff who wish to create healthier, more trauma-informed workplaces.
